Born and raised in Helsinki. With a decade of experience from teaching ballet, and from teaching in Alternative Education (high school) back in New Zealand, I believe we rise by lifting others.
Instead of drowning students in new rules of the language or gluing their noses into to the books... My main goal is to keep the lesson topics always interesting, touching topics that are useful on a daily basis, with emphasis on vocal communication skills!
With me you get to talk, listen, sign, read poems and articles, write whatever challenges you, and most importantly, work on what you need.
After years of studying different languages, I understand the pain of learning new grammar, and the frustration when trying to express yourself without having the right words. (In home I learned to speak Finnish, Polish, and a bit of Swiss German. Later on in school I studied also English, French, Swedish, Latin and Spanish.)
I teach both Finnish and English languages.
I feel proud of myself for reaching full comfort in English, and would love to support your journey in reaching the same comfort too!
Last couple of years I lived on the other side of the world, and wanted to honour my roots and have my share in keeping Finnish language alive! Finnish language is quite a special one, and it would be an honour to support your journey to become fluent in Finnish, while learning more about the country!
