Whether you're a complete beginner or have been taking piano lessons for years, I would be delighted to share my passion for music and piano playing with you!

I will tailor our lessons to fit your preferences, incorporating any genre you wish. We can follow a textbook and have a clear set of goals with scales and exercises, or we can learn your favourite songs with the right accompaniment. Do you want to improve in music theory or sight-reading (prima vista)? We can include that as well! :)

One of my main goals is to create a welcoming environment where you feel comfortable making mistakes, as they are an essential part of the learning process. Don't hesitate to reach out and arrange your first lesson—I look forward to helping you on your musical journey!

ABOUT ME:

My name is Jan and I come from the Czech republic. I currently live in Helsinki where I study for a master’s degree at Sibelius Academy. I have participated and won prizes at several international piano competitions and have been passionately teaching piano to students (both privately and in music schools) for 7 years. I have experience of teaching students of all different ages. Piano pedagogy was a part of my bachelor’s degree at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and, nowadays, I am pursuing further pedagogical studies at Sibelius Academy.

Besides teaching and playing the piano, I also enjoy swimming, jogging, reading and trying to wrap my head around intricacies of Finnish language. :)
